'Foreword Dance is a dance to welcome guests in the provinces of Jambi andRiau.
Majesty in motion a soft and smooth blend with the accompaniment of music andpoetry that is intended for guests. Welcomed with a heart of crystal clear whiteface showing hospitality to guests who are respected.
This dance describes the expression of white people's hearts in welcomingguests. Foreword is usually danced by nine female dancers, and three maledancers, one person in charge of carrying an umbrella and two guards. Propetriused: cerano / container containing betel leaf, umbrella, a dagger. Clothing: baju kurung / custom Jambi Malay style musical accompaniment with musicalinstrument consisting of: violin, harp, accordion, tambourine, gongs and drums.
