Tor Tor Dance - Batak Ethnic

Tor Tor is a traditional dance Batak tribe.
The movement of this dance in rhythm with the music (magondangi) which is played using traditional instruments such as gondang, flute, trumpet hobo, and others.
Historically, dance tor tor used in rituals associated with spirits. Spirit isinvoked and "walked" into statues of stone (a symbol of the ancestors).
These statues are then moved like dancing, but with a rigid motion. The movement is a movement of the feet (toe-toe) and hand movements.
Tor tor various types of dance. Someone called Tor Tor Pangurason (dancecleanup). This dance is usually held at a big party.

In the past, this dance is also performed for the ceremonies when a parent orfamily member dies. Now, dance Tor Tor is usually only used to welcometourists.
